The Royal family appreciates the condolences and support received on the passing of the Queen Mother. And while, under normal circumstances, we would observe this time of mourning together, these are extraordinary times. The safety and health of all must be a priority.

We respectfully ask that as many people as possible use the virtual platforms and do not attend any gatherings outside your immediate families.

There will be some people, especially family members, that will come together physically for the memorial service and funeral. For these events, there will be stringent COVID-19 regulations in place:

• Numbers at each venue will be restricted to 100
• Screening at all venues
• Masks must be worn at all times
• Social distancing will need to be observed at all times
• Hand sanitisers will be freely available for frequent use

Please do not travel to the venue if you have any symptoms, such as high temperature, coughing or sneezing, nausea, aches and pains, or extreme tiredness.

We also remind everyone to maintain social distancing measures when they are travelling.

Anyone who is travelling from neighbouring countries is reminded that a negative COVID-19 test undertaken within 72 hours of arrival is required before entering South Africa.
