Dr Semane Molotlegi, the Queen Mother of the Royal Bafokeng Nation outside Rustenburg in the North West, was an epitome of resilience and togetherness in both good times and bad times.

The North West Provincial Government wishes to confirm that following consultation between the Provincial Government and the Bafokeng Royal family on the funeral arrangements for Her Royal Majesty, Queen Mother of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, it has been agreed that the Queen Mother will not be accorded a Provincial Official Funeral status.

Queen Mother Semae Bonolo Molotlegi was a proud member of the family, the 150 000 strong Bafokeng nation, the renowned and visionary traditional community located in the North West.

The Royal Bafokeng Nation is mourning the death of queen mother Dr Molotlegi. Her majesty died last saturday in hospital after a short illness.
